Religious texts from various monastery libraries collected by Jesuits mainly in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Besides Christian bibles, scriptures, liturgical books, books about canon law, and texts on and against Jesuits, the library holds many copies of texts relating to other religions, such as Islam, Buddhism, and Confucianism.
Observant is the independent weekly magazine of Maastricht University.
Started in 1975 as a monthly magazine under the name 'Maffius', since 1980 the name was changed to Observant. From 1984 the magazine appeared biweekly. From August 1986 it became a weekly; since the mid-1990s Observant has been bilingual.
Observant itself has a digital archive as of March 2009. The University Library has digitized the missing old volumes - 60 issues of Maffius and 945 Observants.
