Charles Eyck
Documentation collection of Limburg visual artist Charles Eyck (1897-1983). It contains a voluminous correspondence between him and his friend Wim Aerts, who Eyck regarded as his future biographer. The collection additionally contains many pictures taken by Eyck himself as a source of inspiration. He created photomontages for large canvases and used photos as mnemonic devices in addition to sketches and scrawls. The entire collection stretches approximately eight metres -

It contains various types of objects, such as books (his personal library), letters, manuscripts, radio fragments, graphic work, a Liber Amicorum (a handwritten book of friends including graphic work by well-known artists), vinyl records, a red egg decorated by him with a poem in gold ink, a desk, and a record cabinet. -
