Books related to medicine including early modern prints of anatomical atlases. In addition to an anatomy collection, the library also includes surgical works and illustrated books on herbal medicine.

    Anatomic atlases, including those by Vesalius, Loder, and Albinus
  • Herbal medicine

    From 1470 until 1670 a huge number of medical-botanical books were published. Natural scientists referred to these often profusely illustrated publications as Herbal books. Writers, such as Rembert Dodoens and Leonhart Fuchs, produced works of immense value in which they combined intricate illustrations with extensive knowledge on the uses of herbs.
